Gaborik's Last Great Act of Defiance...

Minneapolis Star-Tribune hockey writer Michael Russo says in the 'Russo's Rants' blog that oft-injured Minnesota Wild forward and petulant UFA-to-be Marian Gaborik (a.k.a. the 'Shredded Wiener') may undergo surgery, which will make him untradeable prior to the end of the 2008-09 regular season, too late for the club to get anything of value in return for him.

Here's the link to the potentially bad news:

Happy New Year!

Is this still a play-me-or-trade-me ploy?

I thought hockey players were known to suck up the pain and play anyways?? I mean, look at Nolan right now. Dude knows that he's not 100%, but he still went out and played. Hell, he even scored a goal. Although we don't know how serious this is, you think that after being plagued for however many years with a bad groin that he would have figured it out by now, and not let it get this far. This may sound irrational, but I can't take it anymore! He's definitely not making this season any better for us.
