I mean, how else can you explain the utter lack of effort, heart and desire in last night's performance?
Okay, yeah, there were injury issues on the blueline (Hnidy and Burns) but when they flipped the switch after getting up 2-0 in the first, it was obvious and obviously intractable. That it took Florida so long to tie it up is a testament both to Backstrom and Florida not being very good either.
I'm not a "root for them to lose" kind of guy - even with a potential lottery pick as the "reward." And, truth be told, there's pretty much no way the Wild ends up with more balls in the hopper than Edmonton, for example. But, if the players aren't going to put out any effort then I don't see why I should either.
