So we know only one of LA or San Jose is going to finish with 59 points, and the other one will finish with either 57 or 58.
Assuming the Hawks rest everyone, the Blues have a very favorable schedule. They have the hammer over LA and SJS with the game-in-hand. They may very well finish in 4th (60 pts).
The Wild controls their own destiny, and can get help clinching from Dallas if the Stars beat the BJs tonight. Wild can still finish as high as 5th, as low as 9th.
Dallas plays a very prominent role in determining the 8th seed in the West.
Key Games
Calgary @ St. Louis - Wild needs Calgary to win this game if they want to keep pace with, or pass, the Blues.
Columbus @ Dallas - The Wild wants Dallas - who cannot catch the Wild - to win in regulation, which would clinch a playoff spot for Minnesota.
