Minnesota Wild vs. Edmonton Oilers

OK, I've been sitting here for the past hour trying to figure out what to say about this game... something that will come out (somewhat) not making me sound like a complete jerk. Here's what I came up with:

%#^$*!@

I'm at a complete loss about this game. Cullen described it as "weird." Well, that's one way of putting it. I would like to pose one question to you and I would really like an honest answer. Do you really think Backstrom is capable of holding his own in the playoffs? When a team has such an off night (like tonight) the goalie has to be solid. Backstrom gave up 3 goals on 5 shots tonight... against a team that he usually dominates. I know, I know. Harding wasn't much better. 3 goals given up by him in the 2nd period. It was all around a mess of a game. The Wild had 38 shots on goal but could only produce a single goal in the 3rd period. Koivu from Coyle (love that kid, by the way). Falling apart like this just can't happen... especially when they're trying to make the playoffs. Especially against a team that's completely OUT of the playoffs (Oilers).

Tomorrow is a new day... with a new challenge. The Wild face the Avalanche in their house. It's the Av's final home game of the season. Even though they're dead last in the West, they won't go down without a fight. It will not be an easy night for the Wild. The only thing I can think of is that they need to forget the game tonight ever happened. It's done. It was a disaster. Time to move on. They still have a shot at the playoffs... they MUST beat the Av's tomorrow night.

Well look at that... I had more to say than I thought. And it wasn't all angry!
